What to expect on the day?

During the Beer and Hop Festival, Poperinge highlights its greatest treasures: hops and beer.

A festive fraternity party will open on the weekend. Sitting on long wooden benches, you will get to know the friends of the twin towns of Poperinge in a musical atmosphere (free entrance)

On Saturday 20 and Sunday 21 September, the Tourist Office of Poperinge, in collaboration with the restaurateurs of Poperinge and producers of local products, will present the event Lekker Westhoeks on the Grote Markt

Many local producers will offer you in tents their most exquisite products such as hop pâté, hop-flavoured chocolates, hop spray liqueur.

In the Beer Village you will taste forty different beers all brewed with Belgian hops at the counter of a hundred meters long.

In the octagonal lounge-style tent, chefs from Poperinge will prepare delicious local dishes. Come and taste local products in fashionable dishes at reasonable prices.

On Sunday, guided tours to the Hop Museum will be offered. The guides will tell you funny stories.

The Hop Procession tells the story of the hop in all its stitches. More than 1300 extras represent the history of hops in the world, the history of hop pickers and the workings of hand picking in a colourful, whirling show. The children will charm the audience by interpreting the friends and enemies of hops (ladybirds, caterpillars, dragonflies). Dozens of knights and chariots are proud to participate. Free admission.

The festive weekend ends in the marquee with a great ambience. (Free entrance).
