Berck-Sur Mer

If it’s beach you want, then there’s none much bigger in easy reach! The wide expanse of sand is ideal for land-yachting, moto-cross, sand castles & sculptures and for staging one of the world’s biggest annual kite festivals each spring. If it can be made into a kite, it’ll be found here! Located on the Cote d’Opale, just south of Le Touquet, the town is also frequented by painters who love the light (have a look at the pictures by Jan Lavezzari that hang in the hythe museum).

Our strong links with Berck-sur-Mer stem from when Portex had factories in both towns. Since then we have developed long-standing friendships and encouraged contacts between like-minded groups. Notre Dame School in Berck and St. Augustine’s in Hythe have regular exchanges, and the association invites students from brockhill to join us on our annual trip to commemorate the armistice of November 11th 1918.
